15 of my best pieces of work PPD1

IMAGE 15
This was my final illustration of my metamorphosis dress.
I like it that I have disguised the structure of the dress by using merging inks, this gives a contrast between the garment and the illustration.
I like the colours used and the background acting as part of the garment.

This was my final outcome for Interdisciplinary processes.
I was really pleased with this because it took me such a long time to make.
I like this so much because I feel that I pushed myself further to create it
I really like the shape and the way that I have used cubes to create the entire thing.

This was from the metamorphosis work, and part of my design development.
This was an example of where I have created a sample and then designed from this sample.
I think that this piece of work is a real step forward from what I had been doing before.
I like the simple detail on the drawings and the mix of a photo and designs.

This was the final image for the module Fashion, Art and Culture. This was probably one of my favourite modules and one of my favourite pieces overall.

Firstly I like the styling of the photograph, I had taken inspiration from an image that used the idea of hanging garments from a rail.

I really enjoyed making my body cast and I think the message is put across well.

This is my final line up from Creative Design Practises.
I like this image because I really like the way the colours work together.
I like the layout of this piece, and I think that It all matches together nicely.
I think that the designs suit the market and shop that they were meant for.

I like this piece because it mixes my own design with a sourced image.
I like the style of the figures and think they suit the market level that I was aiming at.
The images create interesting shapes and structures. Also good use of colours.

This was also for the project Creative Design Practises. This was at the design development stage. There were so many different sheets that I could have chosen from for this, that I didn't really know which one was the best. So in the end I just chose this one, because it was at the stage where I had started to add colour and it was more interesting to look at. Here I had really started to understand the market that I was aiming at, and had chosen a good set of colours.

This is one of my favourite pieces. I really like the bold colours and I think it has good strong image selection. I think the layout works really well, with the flag in the background. I like this piece so much because the images are taking from a wider variety of sources and are not just images of garments and different clothes.

This was for the project Creative design practises. Although I did not enjoy this module as much, I think that I did get some good work out of it. This is a trend boards for A/W 08/09. I think the image layout is quite good, and I like the marry up of all of the colours. This was one of the first times of producing trend boards and using CAD as well. I think the selection of images is good, and they work well together.

This was the outcome of my jewellery elective.
The theme we had to use for this project, was one that was current in our work at the time; tied and twisted.
I took this forward into knitting wire and knitting different shapes.
I like this piece because I have never created anything like it before. I think it really works well and with more development I think that it could be an actual product.

This piece was my Graduate Fashion Week project.
It was more the idea of this piece that I like, rather than the actual outcome.
Using materials and things that we had only found in a charity shop we had to create a new accessory.
I tried to create a shoulder pad/sash. I like the use of beads and the shape of the piece, I would have liked to have changed the colour and made it more subtle. I would have also liked it to have more volume so that it would make more of a statement.

This is also another piece from the first project.
I like this piece because of the use of materials. This was when I started to realise that I could use other materials to create research and ideas pages.
I also like that there is a texture to the image, and it was showing my theme of tied and twisted.
I like the contrast between the brown paper that is quite a strong colour and the faded black ink.

IMAGE 3
This is one of the illustrations from the first project, Creative Approaches to Fashion.
I like this image because it was a turning point for me, I used to find it quite hard to draw from life, and this was an image that I started in the workshop and then developed once it had finished. I think using the inks and pens all of the same colour just in different tones works really well, and I think the proportions and dimensions are quite accurate. This piece is appealing to the eye.

IMAGE 2
This was the one of the outcomes for our first project as well.
I like this image because it has three different elements, firstly the garment that I made, secondly it was a chance to use photography and thirdly I tied this both together using CAD and photoshop.

I like the theme behind this image and I think that it is appropriate for the garment.

I also like the use of the red for the balloon and all of the other colours are pretty neutral.

I chose this image because it was part of the first module that I did, It was a combination of hand rendered and CAD. This was one of my first experiences using CAD and for a first attempt I think that worked quite well. I also like that you can see the stitching detail on the image and clear drawn lines.

The finished peice

I have now finished my metamorphosis project, and this was my final outcome. I was really pleased with it. After taking such a long time to make, I feel that it was well worth the effort. There are obviousuly things that I would have liked to improve on, such as making the spray paint a more definite pattern and also having the dress longer, but I ran out of cubes and did not have time to make anymore.
