Fashion concepts and new media
Today we were briefed on our new module. It’s a 20 credit module so you know that means there is going to be a lot of work.
This module is what Pathway A is all about, Promotion, promotion, promotion. It looks really interesting but quite daunting at the same time. It’s exploring a completely different area, one that I have never really delved into before, so this makes me feel quite nervous, but at the same time I really want to get stuck in and start creating something that’s really inventive and really sticks out in people’s minds.
We have to create a fashion show/performance and a display stand at London Fashion week, from a collection that we have developed from the outcome of our previous module; innovative cut.
I think it will be quite hard to create a range around my garment because it was so wacky and out there, but I will give it a go. I think what will be more challenging is targeting the right audience, because there is no specific features or styles that my garment holds, it’s hard to define who exactly would want to come and see my show. I’m hoping I will get more of an idea as we progress forward in the next few days.
I think after reading week, it’s going to be really hectic with uni work, We have this module, our critical studies essay to write and we will be finishing off Enterprise and Innovation, so that will be putting together our business plan and our presentation.
I am going to try get my essay done during reading week, as I find it really difficult to write by myself and I find that By discussing it with someone, it helps me to get my head around my own ideas... strange I know, but it helps.
I think I am just going to try finish off a few things with this project, and leave most of it until we come back after the week off, I would rather do that Knowing that my essay is done and isn’t hanging over me waiting to be finished.
I have also started my yearly dance competition again since last weekend, so that’s just another thing to add to the list of things going on. I always seem to get everything happening at once... typical.
