Photo shoot
Critical studies essay, DONE! I was so relieved to have finally given in my essay. I really struggled with the essay, just with structuring the essay and putting what I wanted to say into essay form and with the correct critical terms. I always felt that I wasn’t being critical enough, or that I was leaving things out in my essay, so I’m not sure how well I will have got on with it. Once I had completed my first draft, after unwillingness and annoyance, I felt that I didn’t want to go over it again or change anything that I had done. So I did look through again after my tutorial, just to put things into better paragraphs and link some of the quotes and ideas together so that it wasn’t to bitty and discordant. However I didn’t change any of the content as I felt that there wasn’t anything else that I could get out of the subject and I didn’t want to add another angle to my piece as I felt that there were already too many as it was. I was pleased to give it in and I am just going to wait for the feedback so that next year when the mark counts for part of the grade I will have a better idea of what to do.
Also this week I got to do my photo shoot. I really enjoyed doing this, styling the image, deciding on the set and the props. It was good to try doing new things, and photography is something that I take real enjoyment from.
I tried 3 different types of shots, and the final image I chose was the one that I felt portrayed my message the best way. My model fitted with the image very well, and had an attitude that portrayed the character well which I think shows in the image. I think that I want to use the photography studios more frequently and maybe photograph the work I have done this year in different scenarios and then use them in my presentation for my PPD1.
I have now come home for Easter and I am looking forward to having a few days rest and relaxation and then I can get back into doing some work for the next project. I’m still finding it quite difficult but I am going to get some journals and magazines tomorrow and maybe some good image selection will help me progress.
